About Lake Wabamun

Named with the Cree word for ‘Mirror’, Lake Wabamun is one of the most popular lakes in Alberta. Seba Beach – a favourite summer get-away, the Village of Wabamun, Betula Beach, Fallis, and Point Allison are just a few of the communities that surround this gem 40 miles west of Edmonton. The Edmonton Yacht Club (one of three clubs on the lake), located at Seba Beach, operates a clubhouse and docking facilities, and provides training and social events for sailing enthusiasts. Nature lovers will be enticed by the large numbers of migratory birds that visit Lake Wabamun. Keep your binoculars handy, as beaver and muskrat are also known to use the lake. Local events and amenities include the Seba Beach Farmers Market, a golf resort, and the village marina and pier. A summers’ visit to Seba is only complete with a stop for ice cream and goofy golf .Celebrate the summer solstice with fireworks, food and music at the Wabamun Dragonfly Festival. The Sail Week Regatta is held every July in Seba Beach and features a parade, fireworks, and a beach volleyball tournament, among other events.
