About Jackfish Lake

Jackfish Lake is named after the ‘Jackfish’, a local term for the Northern Pike that inhabits the lake. Parkland County operates the Jackfish Lake Recreation Area, which provides an access point to the lake with boat launch and day-use amenities. Historically, Jackfish Lake has excellent water quality making it a great choice to engage in all your favourite water-based activities. Tonnes of community spirit is on display throughout the year around the lake. The Jackfish Lake Management Association spearheads various social clubs including a Surf Club and Kids Club. Jackfish Days in July features a fire-works display choreographed to music, a cardboard boat race, and other activities for families.
